Exploring Water - Investigations and Solutions

Go to

In this unit, students will explore various water issues and their impact on the environment. They will conduct experiments to compare the difference in plant growth using tap water and greywater, investigate the water cycle and how it applies to a catchment, examine present and future resources of fresh water, and write an essay on a water issue of their choice. Students will develop communication products to educate different audiences on reducing stormwater pollution and design a proposed water policy for their school. They will also create water education posters and suggest actions that individuals, schools, homes, water companies, and politicians can take to address water use and stormwater pollution. Through these activities, students will build their knowledge, attitudes, and values, and identify further issues to produce a set of school tips to reduce stormwater pollution.
