These resources are part of The Leadership Documentary Education Resources created in collaboration with Bunya Productions.

This Year 10 English unit, The Leadership, has been designed to

  • engage students in exploring complex themes such as imposter syndrome, feminism, sexism, diversity and leadership styles through analysis of the documentary film The Leadership
  • develop students’ critical and creative thinking skills, empowering them to respond thoughtfully and sensitively to real-world issues in STEM workplaces
  • encourage reflective dialogue and personal connection, helping students recognise how their emotional responses to texts evolve over time
  • foster a deeper understanding of leadership, supporting students in identifying effective leadership qualities and developing persuasive and creative texts to communicate these insights
  • build awareness and empathy, preparing students to approach challenging issues with informed hope and proactive problem-solving skills

Throughout the unit, students will critically engage with real-world scenarios, reflect on their own beliefs and perspectives, and creatively express their understanding of effective leadership.

It is highly recommended that the first lesson, The Leadership: Viewing And Responding To The Film – English – Year 10, is completed before other lessons in this education package. Please be mindful that this unit handles difficult topics and may impact different students in different ways and ensure students have access to confidential support if they need it.

The Leadership is rated M for mature audiences and contains coarse language and themes of sexual harassment and abuse. Consider whether viewing this film or clips is appropriate for your students.
