Go to

These resources are part of the Clean Up Australia Education Resources created in collaboration with Clean Up Australia.

This suite of resources for Years 7 - 10, Waste Reduction Activities, has been designed to

  • build students’ understanding of waste management and reduction, exploring the environmental and social impacts of littering, e-waste and excessive packaging
  • encourage active citizenship and community participation, guiding students to plan and implement Clean Up Day events and other waste-reduction projects
  • develop critical and creative thinking skills, using real-world investigations, research and hands-on experiments to understand the lifecycle of waste and the circular economy
  • promote sustainable choices and practices, teaching students about the waste hierarchy, water conservation, food packaging and responsible consumerism
  • engage students through creative communication, empowering them to develop persuasive campaigns, web pages and short films that educate their community on reducing waste.

Each lesson offers hands-on opportunities for students to take action in their communities, helping them develop practical strategies for reducing waste and fostering long-term sustainable habits.

These lessons are ideal for participating in Schools Clean Up Day or for a Clean Up event at any time of the year.
