When you think about recycling, plastics and sustainable design, pipes probably aren't the first thing that come to mind. But sustainable design and recycling materials is helping to reduce their negative impact on our environment.
These often hidden heroes of infrastructure are important to us all to think about. They're crucial in delivering water to drink and gas and electricity to power homes and businesses, carrying away sewerage, rainwater and stormwater and protecting cables and wires that deliver internet services. They're even used in food irrigation systems!

These 10 lessons have been designed to boost creative thinking, improve literacy and build a sense of global citizenship.
Across these 10 lessons, students will be engaged in brainstorming sustainable pipe solutions, analysing the recyclability of various materials, designing, creating, and testing pipes made from a variety of materials and evaluating the durability and environmental impact of pipes.
