Imagine you had to move from your safe and comfortable home to the base of a mountain; and there’s an avalanche coming any day! Can you design and build a home that will keep you safe, or will you be washed away?
Humans often mine trees and cliff faces for precious minerals and resources, creating environments where the soil is extremely loose. Tree roots help bind the soil and prevent it washing away in heavy rainstorms.
